"Working as an assistant for Good Shepherd has been a blessing. I can work from home and make the salary I was looking for."
Jenine Estillore
Our mission is to help catholics in developing countries find work that provides them a living local wage as well as have the ability to live and work from home near their families.
Frequently Asked Questions
1) What can my assistant do for me?Any general administrative task that can be done remotely. This would include basic organization, customer service, database management, customer relationship management, light outreach, simple bookkeeping, social media management, calendar management, travel booking and management and so forth. Use your imagination.
2) How do I know they are working? You have the option to use tracking software which will monitor both the amount of time they are working as well as take screenshots at random intervals of what sites they are actually on while working. This is an added cost of $7.99 per month should you wish to use it.
3) How does the billing work? The first payment will be a prorated month if you started midmonth and then from there forward you can pay via credit card or ACH. Invoices are due the first of the month.
4) How can I communicate with my assistant? You can communicate anyway you choose. We rely heavily on slack internally but any communication tool will work. The important thing is that you communicate frequently with your assistant so they feel part of the team.
5) Are there background checks done on the assistants? We do not do background checks on the assistants. The way we handle this with remote staff internally is that we build relationships of trust over time and then give more and more access to sensitive materials once we have built a foundation of trust. If you wish, you can do your own background check.
6) Do I have to be Catholic to use the service? No. We serve clients of all religions. Our mission on the talent side is to serve our Lord by helping catholics in developing nations gain employment which allows them to work close to their families while making a living local wage. Our clients are from all faiths.
7) Are these employees of mine? No, you are contracting with Good Shepherd, a US company based in Wyoming. All of our assistants are independent contractors that operate under the laws of their specific countries. For tax purposes we are like any other agency service you would use. All of the payment/compliance with local regulations is handled by Good Shepherd.
8) What if I am not happy with my assistant? We work very hard to only pick the very best assistants but there are times when things don’t work out. If that is the case let us know and we will find you a different assistant that will hopefully be a better fit.
9) Is this 10 hour trial for real?Yes, of course as long as you are a business that we believe could potentially use one of our assistants. If we determine you are…we are good.
